Christian Rock is a diverse musical genre. It contains within it a veritable cornucopia of artists. Canadian alt-rockers Thousand Foot Krutch (often typeset as TFK) are one of the best and most respected Christian rock acts in the world today. Returning after two years of touring and playing festivals, their latest offering is pure rawk genius. Welcome to the Masquerade is a very solid album consisting of big riffs, beautiful ballads and catchy hooks. Working with mega producer Aaron Sprinkle and featuring guitar work by Randy Torres (Project 86) and Pete Stewart (Grammatrain, The Accident Experiment) TFK have delivered a real masterpiece.

I’m going to be honest here, since 2002′s classic ‘The Eleventh Hour’, I have been somewhat out of the loop when it has come to all things Jars of Clay, this is until I discovered ‘The Long Fall Back to Earth’. In 2007 Oh, Sleeper released their debut recording on Solid State Records. When I Am God was a finely-crafted masterpiece of heavy metaphors and many a call to arms. The Ft. Worth, Texas boys have returned, in the wake of two years of constant touring and little rest, with Son Of The Morning. The metalcore bands sophomore record has completely redefined their sound and style. The record is a concept album telling of the final battle between God and Satan. This epic theme is carried perfectly through the tracks and even in the art for the album. The pentagram is used but it is not your average pentagram, its horns have been removed. This adds to the total package as the art is an allusion to the closing lyrics of the album.
