Addison Interview – 23/01/2010

We caught up with the guys from Addison before their show in Christchurch on the 23rd of January. Sadly this was their last tour, but this is what they had to say.

tunnelMUSIC – How did you guys get started?

Addision – We used to play in this strange band which kinda broke up, we already had Ryan (lead vocals) and we just conglomerated a few more members along the way which has made this the musical fusion that we are now. We’re quite different now from when the band started, a new guitarist, a new bass player and also we’ve been through another guitarist along the way, but living in Australia is pretty cool.

tunnelMUSIC – When did you decide to shift the band over there?

Rapture Ruckus – Interview @ Parachute 30/01/2010

tunnelMUSIC – After seeing you on Mainstage last night it’s obvious you’ve developed quite a rapport with your audience. How important is your live show to you as a performer?

Rapture Ruckus (Brad Dring) – Our live show is everything to us, that’s kind of what has made Rapture Ruckus what it is. We started out making music in the studio but being on the road is what we base everything on. We make all our major decisions on our live show and getting that better. We’re definitely a live act, we are all real passionate about performing and we go and see other bands.

tunnelMUSIC – How different is your live show now compared to when you first performed at Parachute?

Falling Up – Interview – 30/01/2010

tunnelMUSIC – Welcome back to NZ. First up, your disbanding. What was behind the decision to call it quits?

Falling Up (Jesse Ribordy) -In the last year we hadn’t been doing much at all really. Two years ago was our last tour with Family Force 5, and we played shows here and there, then we did a record in between but things were just slowly dissipating. When this opportunity came up we thought, we haven’t played shows in a while and I hadn’t updated anybody about us. I was just kind of hoping that people would slowly forget about us, I knew that probably wasn’t the most mature thing to do so I just felt like this was a good opportunity to say, hey we’re going to call it quits. Which for us is really no different because we’ve been just taking a break the last couple of years, so it really doesn’t feel that different other than the officiality of it. It was a natural progression for us.

TunnelMUSIC – You guys have been around since 2002 is it?
